- Nicknames
Many of you have your own personal phone or address book filled
with friends, business or other acquaintances. In the electronic environment,
you can also create your own personal address book.
Nicknames is an important function. If you send mail to certain individuals
on a more frequent basis, you can create a shortcut by selecting Nicknames
in the Window menu.
Nickname commands:
|
|
| 1 |
Add a Nickname by clicking the New button and type in the appropriate email
address. |
| 2 |
To change a nickname, click on the Rename button. |
| 3 |
To delete a nickname, click on the Remove button. |
| 4 |
You can also group e-mail addresses together. This function is useful when
you need to send the same message to many people. For example, you can group
by a department (youth, housing), as an organizational list (Asian Pacific
Healthcare Venture), or by subcommittee (APPCON Telecommunications). |

To group these lists together, give it a nickname, for example APPCON. Then
in the address(es) dialog box, type all the appropriate e-mail addresses
that you would like to group together, for example bill@ltsc, debbie@csc.apnet.org,
johann@ltsc.org. |

When you send a new message, type in a Nickname. Eudora will send it to
the designated address. This is good for people that have trouble remembering
long email addresses! |
