ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICA:
a tour across the web

=> POTENTIAL and PROMISE.

We hope that this tour has demonstrated the future potential of the Internet and the World-Wide Web for Asian Pacific Americans and community-based organizations. We hope it was interesting, and that it shows the diversity of electonic resources.

The Web has only been around for only a few years - a very short time. It isn't yet perfect. Problems with long waiting times from overloaded web servers, electronic network traffic jams, the difficulty of finding the desired information, are some present shortcomings. But these are challenges that are surely to be overcome. Despite the difficulties, the future promise is much too exciting to ignore.

The Web is a powerful new medium. Almost anyone today can publish information on the Internet for very low cost - making it available to millions of people. We have the power to promote our own organizations, to quickly obtain and distribute needed information, and to extend our outreach to interact with others in distant places. Eventually, this power might translate to solving our social problems as well - to break down the barriers of human ignorance and misunderstanding to enhance our global village. Only time will tell.

This concludes the APA "Tour Across the Web".
