APAnet provides computer technology services to Asian Pacific Islander American non-profit community-based organizations (CBOs) in the Los Angeles area. We wish to ensure equal access to communication technologies for community non-profits, and can work with you to find affordable low-cost solutions. If we are unable to help your organization, APAnet can also provide referrals and recommendations to technology volunteers or other computer consultants and network professionals.

Computer Training

APAnet member agencies and community technology centers in the Los Angeles area offer opportunities for computer training. Feel free to contact the following:

  • DISKovery Computer Center provides affordable technology access and training in Little Tokyo and the surrounding Los Angeles area. Computer classes are offered in both English and Japanese.   • Chinatown Service Center (CSC) Community Technology Center offers computer classes for youth, including web-page design, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Internet use.

  • Korean Youth and Community Center (KYCC) Community Technology Learning Center provides computer training and technology access to the Koreatown community.

  • Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA) provides after school tutoring for youth and use of a computer lab. Training and workshops on basic computer skills such as word processing, research on the Internet and small-scale graphic design are available.

  • Visual Communications (VC) offers classes called the Digital Academy for those aspiring to be digital artists and filmmakers.

  • Community Technology Centers Network (CTCNet) is a national, non-profit membership organization of more than one thousand independent community technology centers where people get free or low-cost access to computers and computer-related technology.
